Being extremely new to live all by myself in a new country, my first solo travel was to York, a beautiful city, which holds the reign of the Vikings. It was a rainy day and York has the most beautiful streets filled with stone structures and wooden shops. York's famous medieval street, Shambles (an old word meaning meat market or open-air slaughterhouse) is said to have been the inspiration for Diagon Alley. Walking down the streets of York listening to its history of Vikings in the rain was an experience which I can never forget.
